Teamviewer hacked password id youtube2/13/2023 ![]() I skimmed through the thread & try to read between the lines. ![]() I dont know whether to feel sorry for them or not when they should have been using something else that was way more secure. For the most part hackers get on the systems and used saved passwords that were in the browsers to hit up sites like Amazon and Paypal to drain people's accounts dry. The reddit thread has gotten super long now about this. I posted this in hopes someone who knows the details can sum it up for neowinians, and save me a lot of time, as this is a very popular tool. It would appear, the ones who use it for personal use, would just have to run the portable versions. I am wondering if this is a widespread serious issue, or an isolated issue, zero-day and only those with lame PWs were attacked.īasically, hackers are taking control of systems where TeamViewer was running all the time (not just while in use) and using the compromised system's cached website passwords, were buying 1000s of iTunes cards on eBay and selling them black market.Ī google search for Teamviewer now has "teamviewer hacked" as the 3rd suggestion. Somehow, hackers managed to tap in to Teamviewer's DNS, or orchestrated a man in the middle by hacking Teamviewer's inner workings (I dont understand the super technical stuff) ![]() Someone fwd a reddit thread to me talking about TeamViewer users were being hacked like crazy. ![]()
